Welcome to our website.

Here We have provided you with information regarding the history, economy and culture of our country, the Azerbaijani-Kuwait relations and the activities of our Embassy.

Azerbaijan is one of the oldest countries in the world. Information about Azerbaijan can be found in the works of many ancient authors.

In the Middle Ages, Azerbaijan had strong political and economic relations with many European and Eastern countries and was an important part of the Great Silk Road.

At the beginning of the 20th century in Azerbaijan, for the first time in the East, a theatre was opened, an opera was written and Azerbaijani Democratic Republic was established. Famous people as the Nobel brothers and M.Rostropovich lived and worked in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan contains a rich cultural heritage our country is known for its carpets, silk products, and also ceramic artifacts and applied arts. The poems of worldwide known Azerbaijani poets such as Nasimi, Nizami Ganjavi, Fuzuli, Hagani, and Natavan are a part of the world literature. The works of composers such as Uzeyir Hajibayli, Gara Garayev, Fikrat Amirov and Vagif Mustafazade have been considered as some of the most famous compositions in the world. Furthermore, famous Azerbaijani singers such as Rashid Behbudov and Muslim Magomaev are known all over the world. Azerbaijan is also known for its ancient architecture and cultural monuments, some of which are included in the UNESCO list.

Today, thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, which is continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva Azerbaijan is leading country in the Caucasus and plays an important political and economic role in the modern world.
